The 5,500ha of winter sown wheat and 270ha trail of OSR survived very well with minimal loss and are now benefiting from the current warm conditions and the application of fertilisers.

Spring planting is well under way under near perfect conditions and 600ha of wheat has been sown to date.

All the land has been prepared for 100ha of potato’s and 33ha for early lifting was planted 2 weeks ago. The main crop planting has commenced and fertilizer applied.

2,500ha of fallow land will be sown with cover crops (mustard) and 1,000ha of coriander is being grown under contract.

Penza escaped the late frosts which badly effected crops in the south of Russia and the current warm conditions are promoting rapid germination.
