Summer 2007
One in ten loaves of bread sold in Penza is produced from wheat grown and supplied by Heartland Farms and cooperation with Penza’s biggest miller & baker, Penza Khleb Product, will see this increase in future years.

Summer 2007
Pictured Greg Page, Cargill President & Chief Executive Officer and Dave Rogers, Senior Vice President, with Colin Hinchley, Heartland Farms Operating Director during Cargills recent visit to Belinsky to discuss Russian agriculture and crop prospects for 2007.

Summer 2007
Planting completed after a 10 day period of rain which was then followed by rising temperatures (up to 40C week 28th May) and no rain until 19th June. The crops suffered during the drought but have recovered well after the rains and the weather now is warm and showers which is ideal.

Spring 2007
The early spring has allowed field work to commence 3 weeks ahead of normal. As of today we have planted 1,200ha of spring barley (1,800 allocated for this year), 50% of the sugar beet area of 1,500ha and all the winter wheat, which has come through the winter with minimal losses, has been topped dressed.
